The association Aktion Solukhumbu Nepalhilfe e.V. was founded in May 2015 after devastating earthquakes in large parts of Nepal led to many deaths and dramatic destruction of the infrastructure. Relief efforts and international support have reached remote mountain regions, such as the Lower Solukhumbu, only to a very limited extent. The association had initially concentrated its activities on initial and reconstruction aid. In the meantime, the activity has developed in close coordination with the local population and includes the development of the village infrastructure and the sustainable improvement of the living conditions of the population in Solukhumbu, in eastern Nepal.
